Google SheetsImport lists from Clay and Google Sheets
If you build lists in Clay or keep them in a Google Sheet, bring them into a TechSales list as they are. TechSales then cleans, verifies and sends them like any other list.
In short
- Clay pushes rows into a TechSales list through a webhook; each list has its own address.
- Google Sheets: paste the link of a sheet shared as Anyone with the link can view, check the preview and map the columns.
- Duplicates are skipped and people on your Do Not Contact list arrive set aside with the reason.
- Both are one-way imports into TechSales. Nothing is written back to Clay or to the sheet.

Set up Clay
- In TechSales, open Settings, then Connections, and save a Clay secret of your choice in the Integrations card.
- Open the list the rows should go to, choose to add leads from Clay, and copy that list's webhook address.
- In Clay, add an HTTP API column that sends each row to that address, with the secret in the x-webhook-secret header.
- Map the fields you want. Column names are kept as you name them in Clay, so name the email and LinkedIn columns clearly; duplicates are found by them.
Import a Google Sheet
- In Google Sheets, share the sheet as Anyone with the link can view.
- In TechSales, on a list, choose to add leads from a Google Sheet and paste the link. The tab in the link is read, or the first tab.
- Check the preview, map the columns and add the rows.
Limits and what happens next
| Clay | Google Sheets | |
|---|---|---|
| How | Webhook, row by row or in batches | One read of the sheet when you import |
| Size | Up to 500 rows and 200 columns per call | Up to 20,000 rows and 10 MB |

Imported rows are not verified on arrival. Run Prepare list to clean names and titles, find and verify emails and score ICP fit before the list is sent.
Not supported: reading Clay tables, sending data back to Clay, private Google Sheets, several tabs at once, or keeping a sheet in sync after the import.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a Clay account?
- Only if you build lists in Clay. TechSales can also find people itself, from Apollo, LinkedIn searches or its managed data source.
- Can Clay add to a list that is already sending?
- No. Clay adds rows only to lists that are not yet approved or live, so a running send never changes underneath you.
- Does a change in my Google Sheet update the list?
- No. The sheet is read once when you import it. Import again to add new rows; duplicates are skipped.
