Guide

How fast should you answer a positive reply?

    Short answer

The same working day, ideally within a few hours. Someone who replied with interest is thinking about the topic now; a slow answer lets the moment pass. Answer the question they asked, offer two concrete times, and stop any remaining steps in your sequence.

    In short

    • Measure it: track the median time to a first answer and the share answered within a few hours.
    • Answer the actual question before proposing a meeting.
    • Offer specific free times or a booking link, not 'let me know when suits you'.
    • Stop every other step and channel for that person once they reply.

What a good first answer contains

    1. A direct answer to what they asked, in a sentence or two.
    2. One line on why a short call would help them.
    3. Two concrete free times, or a booking link.
    4. Nothing else: no new pitch, no attachment unless they asked for one.

    What slows teams down

    • Replies spread over several inboxes, so positive ones are not seen in time.
    • No clear owner for each reply.
    • Writing each answer from scratch.
    • Checking the calendar by hand before proposing times.

How TechSales helps you answer faster

Email and LinkedIn replies land in one Inbox, sorted with those needing attention first. Generate draft writes the answer, Propose a time adds two free slots and your booking link, and with Calendly connected a time the lead names can be booked straight away. The Funnel report shows your median first response and the share answered within four hours over the last 30 days. Alerts are configurable per person (in-app, email or push): an interested reply alerts immediately, and a speed-to-lead alert follows after two hours without an answer.

    Frequently asked questions

Should positive replies be answered automatically?
Simple interest can be, if your tool lets you limit it. In TechSales, Autopilot answers simple interest and information requests, while pricing questions and objections always wait for a person.
What about replies outside working hours?
Answer at the start of the next working day; a quick, well-written answer beats an instant generic one.
Does reply speed depend on the channel?
The same principle applies on LinkedIn and email. Keeping both in one inbox is what makes it possible.
